The Canadian Hospitality Worker Relief Fund (CHWRF) is supported by a broad coalition of hospitality industry stakeholders.
As CHRWF’s spokespeople, Chefs Vikram Vij, Victor Barry, and Dan Geltner have volunteered their personal time to drive awareness with media and the general public.
Founding partners Uber Eats, Nella, Welbilt and Garland Canada have pledged over $1m to provide one-time $500 grants to eligible workers. Community partners Elevate, Staffy, Interac, La Tablee des Chef, and Spiffy are supporting the implementation and/or the promotion of the fund.
Design Exchange (DX) is administering the CHWRF. A registered Canadian Charity, the Design Exchange is also Canada’s Headquarters for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Partnering with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), DX is home to year-round programming, leveraging design and technology to create actionable solutions to solve the 17 UN SDGs, which include climate change, poverty, and inequality.
